Sewage Discharge Reporting

Local Law 57-2012 requires that all private and county sewage treatment plant operators report to the Department of Health Services incidents where sewage treatment plants discharge untreated or partially treated waste. In addition, the Department of Health Services is responsible to notify appropriate elected officials and post such incidents online to the public.

Operators are encouraged to send Suffolk County Wastewater Management an email for additional information.
