Book 2. Mosquito-Borne Diseases
The means by which Suffolk County and other national and overseas vector control programs control the spread of mosquito-borne diseases are discussed. Suffolk County’s programs for arbovirus surveillance and intervention are compared to others. Attention is focused on sampling strategy, sample processing, and correlations to historical and prevailing meteorological and hydrological conditions. The efficacy of adulticidal and larvicidal applications is gauged by comparing pre- and post-intervention sampling records. Book 1 contains the following Parts:

Part 1. Diseases Transmitted by Mosquitoes & Historical Control of Mosquito-Borne Diseases (pdf format)
Part 2. Mosquito-Borne Disease Health Impacts
Part 3. Susceptibility of Other Organisms to West Nile Virus
(pdf format)
